  • Band 6 salary range of between $96,414.06 and $104,911.21 per annum (0.4 EFT equivalent of $38,565.62 and $41,964.48) plus 12% super and annual leave loading.
  • Temporary parental leave cover part time position (0.4 EFT)

About the role:

As Curator and Collections Management Officer, you will shape and deliver inspiring curatorial, exhibition, and collections management outcomes that connect people with contemporary arts practice. You'll work at the intersection of creativity and community, drawing on your understanding of local arts history and current trends to curate meaningful experiences.

The position's deliverables will include:

  • Curating and collections management of the Nillumbik Shire Art Collection
  • The delivery of exhibitions and programs that enable understanding and interpretation of the Collection.
  • The effective management of the Nillumbik Shire Art Collection registry including acquisition, catalogue, significance, loans, conservation and deaccession responsibilities along with continued development and maintenance of the Collections Management System
  • The delivery of programs to support the development of creative industry, including (but not limited to) the Nillumbik Prize for Contemporary Art and the Major Collection exhibition
  • Exhibition support
  • Timely evaluation and reporting practices
  • Support of the overall Arts and Cultural Development portfolio as directed.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Art Curatorship, Collections Management, Arts Management or a related field
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of best practice in art curatorship and collections management
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver major art exhibitions, awards, events and programs
  • Demonstrated achievements in community engagement, customer service excellence and continuous improvement in service delivery.
